Abstract

Summary

The conventional optimization finite-difference (FD) scheme is derived by minimizing the error of the time-space domain dispersion relation. In this paper, we present an optimization scheme for acoustic wave modeling with equivalent staggered grid, which is derived by minimizing the phase velocity errors with conjugate gradient algorithm. The step length can be calculated using the well-known Armijo rule. Moreover, a constrained condition is presented to ensure a stable solution. Dispersion analysis and modeling results demonstrate that the presented method can effectively suppress both the time dispersion and space dispersion.
