Abstract

Summary

We investigate the proper derivation of forward and adjoint pairs for least squares reverse time migration. We adopt a matrix-vector formulation to guide the development of our algorithm. We also investigate the development of conjugate gradients solutions with preconditioning techniques for the alleviation of low wavenumber artifacts that contaminate images that are computed via reverse time migration.
