Abstract
Summary
This paper discusses a 3D receiver de-ghosting algorithm for variable-depth streamer data acquired in the presence of a rough sea-surface and a variable water-velocity profile. The algorithm is based on phase-shift wavefield extrapolators between non-planar interfaces, defined for a shot-dependent streamer geometry and sea-surface height, and requires the solution of a linear system of equations. Analysis of the posterior covariance matrix from this inversion problem provides insight on the effect of cable shape and sea surface on de-ghosting results. Application of the proposed de-ghosting algorithm to data from the Mediterranean Sea provides satisfactory results.
