Abstract

P007 AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICAL STUDY AROUND HYDROMETALLURGICAL PLANT AREA IN KARA-BALTA KYRGYZSTAN Abstract 1 We present results of the use of high-resolution airborne geophysics for mapping geological structures and assessing environmental impacts of a hydro-metallurgical plant area in Kara-Balta Northern Kyrgyzstan. The Kara-Balta hydro-metallurgical industry processes uranium and gold ores and waste material from color-metal industry. Airborne magnetic radiometric and electromagnetic (EM) data were acquired in 2004 over a large area 821 square kilometers using 200 meters line spacing and 30 meters nominal flight altitude. General view of the airborne magnetic map originates from the basement below the sediments. Radiation level
