Abstract

Summary

We investigate the seismic velocity structure of the Adana Basin located in Southern Turkey by using the method of ambient noise tomography. The vertical-component continuous data were recorded by 21 broadband stations located in and around the basin. The Green’s functions are obtained from three-year stacks of cross correlations between each pair of stations. The Rayleigh group velocities are measured for the period range 8 to 22 s. Tomographic images (localized group velocities) show that the lateral variation of velocity structure can be observed and are correlated with the geology.
