Abstract
Exploration of oil and gas targets in the pre-Jurassic (Triassic and Paleozoic) deposits of geological section is a recent upcoming trend for researches in conditions of West Siberia.
Exploration of pre-Jurassic objects provides expansion of the resource base in our region, being in the mature development stage, and maintains production from the longtime developing fields.
However, to provide the required accuracy and reliability for delineation of the objects prospective for oil and gas it is important to overcome a number of serious problems, commonly encountered by seismic method in obtaining of the seismic images of pre-Jurassic section interval.
These problems are as a variability of interval velocities, curvilinear nature of reflecting boundaries, significant proportion of scattered component in the wave field, high level of different coherent and noncoherent noise, incomplete adequacy of methodology for the applied acquisition geometry.
There is a number of methods of seismic imaging reviewed in the report, as well as specific issues and the results of their application.
