Abstract

Summary

In the paper authors describe how seismic data disturbances affect scattering wave separation. They provide a set of recommendations for processing procedures that would improve the reliability of results. The original method based on mathematically precise solution of inverse scattering problem was performed to separate scattered waves from full multifold seismic data. Input data was modelled 2D seismograms and 3D field seismic data. Authors made observations on scattered wave separation result after adding different disturbances to modeled data and after different processing stages on real 3D data. Some conclusions and recommendations were made based on the observations. The paper shouldn’t be considered as a deepest research of the problem. Only the main kinds of seismic data disturbances are examined.
