Abstract
Summary
We demonstrate that interferometric interpolation implemented in the Radon domain can be used to fill the missing near-offset traces in marine data. We demonstrate the effectiveness of this method on synthetic data and a real towed marine dataset from the Baltic Sea. We compare the results obtained by Radon-domain interferometric interpolation with those from conventional interferometric interpolation. It is clear from this comparison that Radon-domain interferometric interpolation performs better than the conventional interferometric interpolation method when the acquisition geometry is irregular and the source-receiver aperture is limited.
