Abstract

Summary

Because high over-pressure from a sand body is communicated to the shale above, a variation from the normal trend of the scaled resistivity / porosity field is expected when approaching the high overpressured sand. With this knowledge, a two-warning system has been developed that allows the identification of these overpessured layers hundreds meters above them.
