An Analysis of the Reverse Time Migration in a Transversely Isotropic Media

Abstract
Summary
In this paper, it is presented the results using Reverse Time Migration (RTM) technique for different formulations of the full waveform equations with the aim to evaluate the migrated sections accuracy. RTM based on acoustic isotropic wave equation (Isotropic RTM), RTM based on pseudo-acoustic vertical transversely wave equation (VTI RTM) and RTM based on pseudo-acoustic tilted transversely isotropic wave equation (TTI RTM) were implemented. These algorithms were used to migrate the Benchmark 2D BP 2007 TTI dataset and to build the Common Image Gathers (CIGs). CIGs will allow the analysis of the anisotropy parameters influence in migrated sections.
