Abstract

Summary

There are a variety of differing approaches to the performance of QC operations on wireless land systems equipment during seismic acquisition operations. Three of the most common types of approach are described and a discussion is given as to why one approach has become the most popular amongst seismic contractors in current times. The details of how this approach is applied in practice in a variety of different programme types are described. Differing programme attributes in terms of geography, intensity of agriculture and built environment mean that different specific techniques within the same overall, flexible, approach are required. The evolution of these techniques with new technologies becoming available is also described. A view is given on how future systems may designed, influenced by this approach but adding further efficiencies to the process of performing equipment QC operations on wireless land systems.
