Abstract

Summary

In unconventional reservoir exploration, fractures are important space for hydrocarbon. Fractures can be treated as an interfaces developed in host rocks. An approximate equation of P-wave reflectivity of fracture interface is introduced and corresponding pre-stack inversion is performed. The new inversion method can estimate fracture and host rock properties simultaneously, which can be used in further reservoir evaluation.
