Abstract

Summary

The purposes of this study is to investigate the effect of waterflooding on the oil recovery efficiency and the reservoir pressure in one of the oil fields in Libya, which would help in the overall development plan of the field. Estimation the amount of water that encroaches into the reservoir is very important to maintain the reservoir pressure above the bubble point, as well as avoiding the problems of high rates of water influx. Also, to identify the nature and the source of the produced water in order to avoid excessive water production problems and improve the treatment methods that are used to reduce high water cut.
