Abstract
Summary
The volcanic reservoir has been the hotspot in the oil and gas exploration for decades. A new chaos inversion workflow with the control of sequence stratigraphy , extrapolation process and stochastic stimulation were used to invert the seismic data of Carboniferous stratum consist of igneous reservoir, volcanoclastic rocks, and tight igneous reservoir. We manage to recognize the reservoir with the thickness about 5–10m. Our work thus determined the effectiveness of combining chaos inversion methods with empirical constraints in exploration of volcanic hydrocarbon reservoir
