Abstract
In 2012 Snorre license partners decided to invest in the world’s largest Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) system on the Snorre field in the North Sea, with the intention to acquire repeated seismic surveys twice a year. The first PRM acquisition took place in spring 2014 and a total of five PRM surveys have been acquired by fall 2016. This abstract will look into the value of information from PRM data between 2014 and 2016 using two examples. The first example demonstrate how PRM data has been used to increase the lateral understanding of pressure and fluid movement in a fault segment, and optimize well placement for a new producer and injector with regards to sand communication in a complex area. The second example show how frequent acquisitions can have a direct impact on well interventions and save costs related to, for instance, valve testing.
