Abstract

Summary

Quantification mineralogy is critical for resource evaluation in complex lithology reservoirs and unconventional reservoirs. In geochemical logging, Linear regression model is the most common method predicting mineral concentrations from element concentrations. However, the deficiency of the linear regression method often causes appreciable errors in the calculation of mineral concentraitons in the resource evaluation. We proposed a non-linear multimineral inversion algorithm based on Tikhonov regularization. The mineral concentrations obtained by the new method from a well in an oilfield is consistent with the core analysis data, which indicates that the multimineral inversion algorithm can be applied to process actual logging data in geochemical logging.
