Abstract

Summary

The tight dolomite gas reservoir found in the Ma 5 member of Daniudi field in Ordos basin in Western China has huge reserves. The main rock physics features of the reservoir includes multi-minerals, complex pores structures, low porosity and permeability, inhomogeneous fluid distribution in the pores. It is difficult to establish a rock physical model that characterizes these features. This paper develops a rock physics model for the tight dolomite reservoir by combine the MPD-KT rock physics model, VRH mean formula, Brie equation and Gassmann equation. This method is used to predict velocities in 67 wells in the study area. The application in actual data proves the validity of the new model.
