Abstract
Taking the sandy littoral facies carrier bed of Donghe sandstone in the Hudson zone, Tarim Basin as an example, the effect on hydrocarbon migration of the boundary of a sandy littoral facies carrier bed is discussed. Using a study of sedimentary architecture the structure of a model carrier bed is divided into 9 levels, and a numerical simulation method is used to simulate the dynamic process of hydrocarbon accumulation in the Donghe sandstone reservoir. It shows that the hydrocarbon migration processes in the sandy littoral facies carrier are heterogeneous, both in time and space. From the paleo-oil pool to the new traps, the carrier boundary influences the migration processes. It is the major cause of the inclined oil-water interface in Donghe sandstone.
