Abstract

Summary

High resolution 3D petroleum system modeling was done in south-eastern part of Pannonian basin, in area of Vojvodina (Serbia) with the aim of checking potential sites for drilling and exploration risk reduction. Investigated area encompasses area of 4593 km2 which is fully covered with 11 3D seismic cubes and modelling process was carried out in Schlumberger PetroMod software.

Prevously, investigation area was covered with regional 3D petroleum system model with 500 × 500 m grid cell which cover more than 90.000km2. It includes parts of Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia Exploration level in this area of Pannonian basin progressing from advanced exploration to mature level, with great number of wells and discovered oil and gas fields. In such an environment, the greatest number of new, potential, locations are located on small structures or within thin reservoir layers, beyond the scope of regional modeling. This has made it necessary to create a high-resolution petroleum system models that would be connected to a regional model, that covers the entire regional charge area and the migration pathways to the high-resolution models.
