Abstract
Frequency-dependent interpretation has the potential of better sedimentary sequence and facies analysis. However, traditional frequency band-pass filtering method suffers from truncation noise and only divides the frequency components of seismic data rather than generates true frequency-dependent stratum reflection data. In this paper, a new seismic frequency and phase changing method based on the seismic complex spectral decomposition and reconstruction is investigated. The process of this method contains two steps. Firstly, using a complex Ricker wavelet library decomposes the seismic data and generates complex time-frequency reflection coefficients, in which the phase information is included. Secondly, reconstruct to desired data through changing the dominate frequency of the complex wavelets and the phase of the complex coefficients to an expected frequency and phase. The synthetic example helps to demonstrate the proposed method and the real data example shows the effectiveness.
