Abstract

Summary

Earth absorption is one of the main reasons causing seismic wave energy attenuation. Based on amplitude attenuation, the seismic wave energy attenuation law is studied in this paper. In constant Q medium, seismic wave energy curve is mainly affected by geometric diffusion and absorption. The former shows a hyperbolic curve, and the latter shows an approximately exponential decay trend. Based on energy variation function, when the attenuation of zero-offset VSP data mainly involves geometry diffusion and absorption, Q values can be calculated by quadratic-linear fitting. Model test proves the seismic wave energy variation function with attenuation. In addition, estimation algorithm also achieves some good results in actual application.
