Abstract

The non-seismic employment operates a hypothetical reduction of the geophysical equivalence. Traditionally, the mutual agreement imposed to the properties is supposed to reduce the degree of freedom in shaping the final model of the earth. Nevertheless, in many cases, it is difficult to quantify how much influence the non-seismic data has on the reduction of the geophysical ambiguity. The presentation attempt to exemplify one instance of a typical situations of velocity determination with seismic-only solvers, and provide some reference number for estimating the geophysical equivalence reduction and the decrease of the uncertainty of results in the occurrence of seismic and non-seismic data.
