Abstract

The characterization of a green tight carbonate reservoir in middle-east is presented. The short production and the little amount of subsurface data made the modelling of the asset challenging. An innovative methodology involving integrated approach of disciplines as seismic, sedimentology, petro-physics, and production analysis was followed to make the best use of the available set of data. The paper presents how the employed workflow addressed uncertainty on reservoir connectivity and pressure support. The model was populated with electrofacies distributed according to maps generated from seismic characterization and sedimentological study. The production data recorded from wells, liquid rate and ESP flowing pressure, was then interpreted in the RTA to assess permeability effectively contributing to the drainage. The history matching was thus performed making moderate adjustments to the geological model.
