Abstract

Summary

In this study we estimate P- and S-waves attenuation quality factors using peak frequency method for the lower Silurian and Ordovician strata in north Poland. For the estimation of the quality factor we use dataset recorded by the downhole array during one of the first hydraulic fracturing experiment in Poland. We show that obtained results are consistent and the estimated quality factors for P- and S -waves have similar values within the uncertainty. We overcome the presence of the guided waves highly interfering and compromising the peak frequency method.
