Abstract

Summary

We propose a simple processing flow to enhance the quality of sparker data, which includes, among others, swell filtering, wavelet processing, predictive deconvolution, and F-X filtering. This processing flow was applied to a sparker profile acquired from the shallow-water area off SW Korea. The processing significantly attenuated the short-path and long-path multiples and random noise. Sequence stratigraphic interpretation, which would not have been possible from the initial data that underwent minimal processing, revealed the systems tracts and bounding surfaces.
