Abstract

Summary

A seismic and sequence stratigraphy framwork of the Cretaceous and Paleogene clinoform complexes are presented. The work is based on 2D regional seismic data and outcrop data.

The Cretaceos and Paleogene prograding clinoform successions infill the North Chukchi basin, formed during large-scale basin development in Early and Late Cretaceous.

The seismic analyis of clinoform defined that Cretaceous clinoform are represented mostly tangential oblique geometry. The Paleogene clinoform sequences characterized by various geometries - tangential oblique, sigmoidal and shingled types.

The Cretaceous and Paleogene clinoform sequences are mainly sourced from Wrangel-Herald Arch in the southern part of North Chukchi basin.
