Abstract

P501 A 3D Seismic Depth-Processing Toolkit For Sub-Basalt Imaging Abstract 1 We present the key elements of a 3D depth-processing toolkit designed specifically to address the challenges of sub-basalt imaging. This toolkit combines bubble-pulse waveform manipulation surface multiple attenuation hybridized 3D grid-tomography for highresolution intra-basalt velocity discrimination and wave-equation pre-stack depth-migration. Examples of its implementation are provided from a recent 3D towed-streamer dataset acquired over the thick basalt sequences found offshore Faroes. Introduction In general imaging in the presence of high velocity layers (HVLs) requires adaptability at all stages of the processing flow - the pre-migration data conditioning the creation
