Abstract

Summary

We plan to present two case studies from deepwater drilling wherein we performed look-ahead VSP inversion. The cases elaborated in this paper are unique in the sense that these are examples wherein look-ahead VSP was the only possible alternative that could lead to viable planning of risk mitigation associated with the drilling and aid decision making in the drilling program in the deepwater environment for avoidance of major financial losses
