Abstract

Summary

In order to mitigate low frequency energy loss caused by frequency domain based filtering methods, a ground-roll suppression approach utilizing interferometry and complex Curvelet transform (CCT) is proposed in the paper. Firstly, the ground-roll model is predicted by data cross-correlation utilizing interferometry theory. In the following step, an optimal problem is built to correct the dynamic differences between the predicted ground-roll model and the actual one in CCT domain. Finally, the ground-roll suppression dataset is recovered by subtracting the corrected model dataset from original one. We demonstrate through a field dataset that the approach can protect low frequency energy while suppressing ground-roll.
