Summary:
The North Sea is a mature hydrocarbon resource area that is well covered by seismic data, however there is a strong industry desire to achieve maximum value from existing datasets without having to acquire a new acquisition carpet each time. We present here a case study from the Ivar Aasen field where the simultaneous use of seabed and towed streamer datasets for FWI, tomography and imaging allowed a continuous high resolution model to be derived over a large area spanning multiple discoveries to support current and future development.
