Abstract
Summary
Marine seismic data contains ghost waves - reflections from the free surface that follow the source wavelet. These events worsen the resolution of seismic data. The techniques for the removal of these ghost waves exist, but they are often based on a flat-sea approximation. This approximation is invalid in case of bad weather conditions, when the sea surface is rough. We present a technology for the estimation of the sea surface shape and a deghosting method that is capable of taking this shape of the sea surface into account.
