Abstract

Summary

Nowadays, one of the challenges that faced oil and gas industry is the effective development of fractured reservoirs, in which significant hydrocarbon reserves are concentrated. The interest within the present research is presented by fractured reservoir of Paleozoic basement. The structure of Paleozoic basement is complicated by faults that generate variety of fractured network. To explore the field of research effectively it is necessary not only to take into account all structural heterogeneities, but also to analyze their role in the fluid filtration. A complex tool for solving such kind of problems is the analysis of geomechanical parameters. Evaluation of these parameters should be complex and involves not only the analysis of present field stress state but also reconstruction of paleo-stresses. Thus within the given research the authors would try to estimate the stress state both present and past and to characterize faults in terms of their conductivity.
