Abstract

Summary

Geomechanics faced with the problem of lack or limited number of input data/research to build a geomechanical model. For example, test core samples to evaluate mechanical properties of rock core should be selected for all lithogenetic types of rocks with full preservation of its continuity; records acoustic, acoustic broadband, density loggings for the analysis of continuous profiles of elastic properties and anisotropy associated with texture characteristics and natural fracturing of rocks; research wells microimager to identify the directions of principal horizontal stress; conducting hydraulic fracturing for the quantitative assessment of the minimum horizontal stress, etc..

The purpose of this paper is to tell about the experience of building the large-scale geomechanical model (area of sector of modelling of 180 km2, the number of cells in the model 26 million 500 thousand) in the conditions of insufficient information on input data on the example of one oil and gas condensate field in Western Siberia. The article describes in detail the algorithm and the sequence of actions to refine the optimum set of methods to build three-dimensional geomechanical model.
