Abstract

Summary

Cross well seismic is high in resolution which can provide fine image of small targets, such as inter well formation and reservoir. At present, vertical cross well seismic has already become a proven technology. However, most offshore wells are highly deviated wells. Deviated wells are not usually in the same plane, and their trajectories are always far from each other, which introduce a poor condition for cross well seismic acquisition. The purpose of this research is to provide a sort of method analyzing the acquisition condition, and to provide a sort of processing and interpretation work flow for deviated cross well seismic. In K oilfield of Bohai Bay, different cross well groups and acquisition parameters are tested using the proposed condition analyzing method, and the favorable acquisition condition is summarized. Finally a set of high quality cross well seismic data is collected. Based on the seismic data, small targets such as low grade faults and thin sand are figured out in detail, which do great help to oil development. This research provides reference for the application of highly deviated cross well seismic.
