Abstract

Summary

Time-lapse analysis of early towed streamer surveys over the ACG field suffered due to overburden complexity and widespread acquisition footprint. As a result, towed streamer 4D has historically been considered only for parts of the field capable of providing the highest data quality. A new acquisition was undertaken in 2016. 4D processing of this data focuses strongly on minimising repeatability issues associated with known limitations in legacy surveys. The pair-wise parallel approach is employed to maximise the effectiveness of binning, migration and denoise. As a consequence we see a significant improvement in fluid front monitoring, particularly in areas previously deemed marginal for 4D. These results are directly contributing to well optimisation work, actively yielding enhanced production and additional reserves. This work demonstrates how effective delivery of tailored 4D processing and analysis workflows can be undertaken to derive significant new business value within this mature oil field.
