Abstract

Summary

The reservoirs thicknesses of E3s3u formation, KX oilfield, are 5–10m, which are beyond the scope of seismic resolution, making it difficult to predict reservoirs by using conventional seismic facies analyses and pre-stack inversion methods. In this paper, we design a pre-stack inversion method with differential evolution for reservoir prediction specified for this area. First, by using data from well logs, the feasibility and high-resolution of this method are verified. Then we apply this method to a 2D crossed wells seismic profile inversion, which gives high resolution inversion results. Furthermore, we find high sensitivity of density to the lithologic identification. Density is then used for a 2D profile inversion crossed designed wells, and it successfully predicts the development and distribution of reservoirs on target layer, which effectively guides the evaluation well proposal and has certain reference value for the future reservoir prediction research to the similar oilfield in Bohai bay basin.
