Summary

This paper illustrates the benefits of 3D seismic processing and imaging aimed at broadening the spectral bandwidth and attenuating fault shadowing effects in a case history in the Bonaparte Basin (Australia). Different signal processing techniques such as broadband processing, internal demultiple and regularization were applied to an early 2000 acquisition. Sub-fault imaging was particularly challenging, due to strong fault shadowing artefacts below the main fault planes. The bespoke processing provided PSTM and PSDM volumes with significant improvements to the vintage data.
