Abstract

Summary

We will present a method using the Hessian transform and demonstrate its usefulness in seismic analysis. The proposed applications include new capabilities of boosting the resolution of the seismic using the Hessian eigenvalue decomposition. Further advantages like S/N improvement are also pointed out. This new analysis has successfully been applied to different real seismic data-set with challenging seismic to improved extraction of geological objects that can be characterized by subtle changes in second order derivatives of seismic signals.
