Abstract

Summary

Fault sealing analysis (FSA) can provide oil explorer with additional value of information such as fault sealing behavior, hydrocarbon column height and so on, and effectively reduce uncertainty and risk in faulted siliciclastic reservoir exploration. The fault in WJ block plays an extremely important role in hydrocarbon migration and accumulation also, but the complex structure with mixed normal and reverse and the lack of available data, such as pressure data and oil testing data, are big challenges for Fault Sealing Analysis in the WJ Block. Through the establishment of a refined structural model that is suitable for the geological features in WJ block, combined with the calibration of key evaluation parameters, the standards of fault sealing evaluation in the study area are determined. The hydrocarbon accumulation control factors of typical faulted traps were determined and the potential OWC/GWC was predicted finally.
