Abstract

ies of the technologies involved. The debate can be further matured by recognising that PRM needs to meet all the requirements in an overall system architecture – both subsea and topside. Attempts should be made to understand and learn from those who regularly work with similar infrastructure, such as subsea production control systems and subsea cables. Critical interface engineering considerations are presented for typical fibre optic (FO) PRM systems implemented upon floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) platforms. Early integration into a project's concept phase can improve the business case and ensure future PRM implementation is feasible.
