Abstract
The Valhall chalk field has been a pioneer for seismic technologies for almost 2 decades. This giant field, on production since 1982, has subsequently seen its subsurface revealed by 2D seismic, 3D seismic in 1992, then 4D seismic with ultimately the installation of a permanent array . If there is no doubt that seismic data have contributed to our current understanding of the field, challenge still remains in transfering the details of seismic interpretation into a reservoir model in order to support effective reservoir management. This paper will illustrate the pragmatic approach used by the well planning team under the constraints of short timing and abundance of seismic information
