Abstract
Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) has increasingly been conducted for various seismic applications in a variety of geologic and operational settings. Advances on DAS hardware are now enabling operators to acquire repeatable seismic data on demand. These reduced cost acquisitions take advantage of existing Fiber Optic (FO) installations in the borehole. Advances in FO are further enabling the acquisition of data in traditional surface seismic applications. Examples of time lapse reservoir monitoring using DAS are presented here. It is shown that DAS measurements can be used to track various physical processes including water floods, steam injection, fracturing of rocks and CO2 injection
