Abstract

Summary

A lot of software products in our time offers solution for solving angle-dependent seismic data inversions. Because of non-linearity and complex roots of Knott-Zoepprits equations approximations are frequently used. But did they are accurate enough to get a proper results? In this article two popular approximations will be explored in comparison with full Knott-Zoeppritz solution.
