Features of Geomagnetic Field Variations Mid-latitude Observatories in Range of Period and Half-period of Carrington

Abstract
Taking geomagnetic variations into account is of great importance in magnetic prospecting, since they often introduce significant distortions into experimental data, especially in high-precision measurements and low-gradient fields which is common for oil and gas regions. One of the fundamental periodicities of geomagnetic variations is the 27-day periodicity with harmonics 13.5 days, 9 days and 6–7 days. In the present work, high-resolution spectral analysis of geomagnetic field variations in the range of 27 and 13.5 days at medium-latitude observatories characterized by different geological and geophysical conditions is carried out. The research of the spectral harmonics of the geomagnetic field in the period and half-period of solar rotation range show that along with harmonics associated with modulation for a period of 11 years, a year and half a year, harmonics with periods close to the periods of elliptical and declinational lunar tidal waves as well as lunar-solar tides with periods of half and the whole synodic month is observed.
