Summary

When specifying the velocity model for subsurface space, a significant factor is the ability to rapidly simulate the shape of the velocity spectra in the migration method for analyzing the high-speed model of the high-frequency model. For the upper layer of the geological section, we can use a single-layer model of a medium with a constant velocity and a curvilinear reflecting boundary. The use of analytical calculation formulas can predict and explain how the shape of the hodograph and, correspondingly, the shape of the reflecting boundary change with an incorrectly implemented velocity model.
