Abstract

Summary

The report analyzes the main trends in the development of petrophysics as a science of knowledge of rocks and the specifics of accounting for these trends in solving specific problems of oil and gas geophysics. There is a fundamental difference between a superficial and a deep interpretation both in terms of the volume of petrophysical and lithological information taken into account, the coverage of its problematic aspects, and the level of closeness and voluntarism in decision-making, etc. The limitations and inconsistency of traditional models of sandy-silt-clay section and the need to obtain more detailed information for their specification under specific conditions are noted. The features of the granulometry of such deposits and its relationship to porosity are considered. In conclusion, there are a number of requirements for software for the work of petrophysics, which seem useful and which are guided by the developments and the author of the report.
