Abstract
Summary
The integration of geomechanical modeling with understanding of geological control on overpressure mechanism helped the well designer sets his/her expectations in the planning phase, enabling a more proactive approach for flawless execution during the drilling phase. The well was successfully drilled to the desired depth despite a predicted drilling margin of only ∼1.0 ppg, reducing non-productive time (NPT).
