Abstract

Summary

The fractured media bring in additional reflctions into the seismic data while carrying out the geological seismology works on looking for the hydrocarbons. in this work, the seismic reflections from fractures are being investigated. Two approaches to modelling fractures are represented. in the first case, the fracture normal is parallel to the boundaries of the grid nodes, and in the second case the fracture is not parallel to them. The first case of a horizontal or vertical fracture is simple for modelling, while the second one is more difficult. in this work, the approach to modelling inclined fractures with the help of the two-coastal infinitely thin fracture model is supposed. The comparison of the supposed method with the case, when the fracture is parallel to the boundaries of the grid nodes, is being held.
