Abstract

Summary

The Lower Cretaceous deposits of Barents-Kara region are of particular interest from the petroleum potential viewpoint but haven`t still well studied. It was possible to investigate them based on seismic and cyclostratigraphy principles due to available seismic and well data. It was identified elements of different orders in the structure of the Lower Cretaceous section: complexes, subcomplexes and cyclites formed at different stages of the geological evolution of the region and influenced by various factors, therefore they have different oil and gas potential. a detailed analysis of the Neocomian deposits with a clinoform structure, their geometry and size was also carried out, that allowed to classify them and reconstructed environment.
