Abstract

Summary

Wavelet transform is an effective way to detect seismic discontinuous structures. Dual-tree complex wavelet transform is a computationally efficient approach and gives good directional selectivity in multi-dimensional signals processing. It hasn't been applied in seismic discontinuous detection. We proposed a workflow based on dual-tree complex wavelet transform and hard thresholding method. The workflow is applied to an octagon model and field data. The results show its good performance on edge detection and small texture extraction.
